If you like to get away with the crowds and explore the unique neighborhood of Alfama, Joao & Carla's place is the place for you. The location is in the center of Alfama (caveat: Alfama is a maze and it is hard difficult to navigate without (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map. However, it's worthy to stay for couple of nights) Joao is very attentive to the needs of his guests and he keeps accessible communication. The apartment is modern and cozy, and it has all the amenities you need. One thing to keep in mind- the apartment is located on the first floor. You can hear the sounds from the pedestrian easily. Overall, I will recommend this place for whoever visit Lisbon that wants to take a detour from city center to Alfama.

Had a wonderful time, Alfama is a lovely place to stay if you're in Lisbon, the apartment was modern, had everything you would need, cosy and perfect for short trips, we felt very safe in the area. The hosts were really helpful and nice, and made a big effort to get the flat feeling homely. Thanks again.

Very nice appartement in the beautiful neighbourhood of Alfalma ! We had a nice stay, the place is exactly like in the pictures, the only lowlight would be the lack of windows and luminosity. Thank you very much Joao & Carla !

This was really a splendid appartement. What you see is what you get. Everything worked well, the internet was fast. The owners gave a warm welcome with tips and a bottle of local wine which was very good. The appartement is in a authentic building what makes it an unique experience. The neighbourhood is safe, close to the Taag and popular quarters. For a local supermarket you can go to Pingo in Santa Apolonia trainstation.

Carla & João are the best hosts we've ever had. They were in touch with us all the time. Everything worked out really well also because of Rita who welcomed us, explained everything about the apartment and gave us good tips about how to get around and what to see in Lisbon. The apartment is located in the heart of the Alfama and is well equipped with everything one needs. It was perfectly clean. There was also a bottle of nice red wine.
